Error 5000
Error 5000
hello,
I have been intermittently receiving the following error 5000 (The ADC box is off or the optical fiber is disconnected) when running ActiView. The blue light is illuminated on the box-- so I can confirm the battery is not the issue. Is it safe to assume that the optic fiber cord is going bad, or is it possible that the USB cord may be causing the error? Is there a straight forward way to confirm which one is the problem? (e.g., a meter).
Thanks,
Vanessa

Re: Error 5000
Common causes of intermittent 5000 errors are (ordered from most to least likely):
- bad optical fiber
- bad USB cable
- bad optical transmitter
- bad optical receiver
Replace fiber and USB cable. If the problem persists, then sent the AD-box and USB receiver to BioSemi for testing and repair.

Hi,
we have had a lot of error 5000 lately. I would suspect the USB-cable out of these options, can I change to any kind of USB-cable or are there some quality specifications that need to be met?

Any USB cable is OK, also try a different USB port.

Error 5000
Dear Team,
I'm trying to set up the system but keep getting an "Error 5000 at No Incoming Data" error message. So far, I've checked the following:
1. the battery is working,
2. the AD box shows green and flashing blue light (which goes solid blue when CMS & DRL are connected),
3. the speed mode is set to 4,
4. the receiver (red) has power and the USB sign flashes when I start ActiView (V9.02),
5. the cable connecting AD box and receiver is brand new,
6 .we've tried different USB slots on the PC.
Can you please advise?
Thanks!
Friederike

I tried two:
ADC11-05-174
ADC11-04-133
ADC11-05-174
ADC11-04-133

Re: Error 5000
ADC11 are Mk1 systems (20 years old), they do not work with the new red receiver. You should use the older type white receiver.

Re: Error 5000
Send the red receiver to BioSemi, we will replace it with a white one (we still have a few).

Re: Error 5000
Hi,
We bought a new USB 2 receiver (red version) for the Active Two AD-box (ADC6-03-61) but we keep receiving the error 5000 on ActiView (V9.02). We are having a very similar issue as a previous user:
"1. the battery is working,
2. the AD box shows green and flashing blue light (which goes solid blue when CMS & DRL are connected),
3. the speed mode is set to 4,
4. the receiver (red) has power and the USB sign flashes when I start ActiView (V9.02),
5. the cable connecting AD box and receiver is brand new,
6 .we've tried different USB slots on the PC."
7. Optic link LED indicator for indication of data coming from the fiber is not activating.
We correctly receive the signals when using the older white USB receiver (ActiveTwo USB-Receiver 5.1). However, we need the new red USB 2 receiver in order to use the EEG trigger interface.
What could be the cause of the problem?
Thank you for your help,
Joann

Re: Error 5000
ADC6 is an Mk1 AD-Box and does not work with the red receiver. Your white receiver does work with the USB Trigger Interface (the trigger ports of white and red receivers are identical).

Re: Error 5000
Thanks for such a quick answer. Indeed, the EEG interface works with the old white USB receiver. However, we were under the impression that our ActiveTwo model should be compatible with the new red USB 2 receiver. On the Biosemi website it explicitly shows that the ActiveTwo AD-Box (ADC06) is compatible with the red USB 2 receiver: https://www.biosemi.com/faq/which_fiber.htm
If this is indeed not the case, is it possible to return the red USB 2 receiver?
