input to USB2 receiver

Hi, I have an ActiveTwo system, and I would like to replace the computer I'm currently using to present stimuli / send stimulus triggers. In my hardware configuration, the port on the back of the receiver takes a cable that splits in part to a 25-pin connection that plugs into a port in my old stimulus computer. Most new computers do not ship with a port that can accommodate that 25-pin connection, though. If I use a 25-pin serial-to-USB adapter, and plug into a USB port, will I lost trigger information?
